Academics at RISE

At The RISE Schools, our mission is to provide a rigorous and holistic education that nurtures both the minds and character of our scholars, empowering them to become catalysts for social change. Our academic programs are designed to meet the needs of every scholar, emphasizing personalized instruction, critical thinking, and creativity. All curricula are aligned with Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) to ensure scholars achieve academic success while meeting state benchmarks.

English Language Arts (ELA), Reading, and Science

We utilize Savvas Learning for ELA, Reading, and Science, providing a research-based, standards-aligned curriculum that meets the Georgia Standards of Excellence.

ELA & Reading: Savvas integrates scientifically grounded instructional strategies with engaging, personalized learning. This curriculum focuses on improving reading fluency, comprehension, and writing skills while fostering a deep appreciation for language and literature.

Science: Our K-12 Science curriculum aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Georgia Standards of Excellence. Through inquiry-based learning, students engage with real-world phenomena, apply STEM principles, and deepen their scientific understanding using Disciplinary Core Ideas, Science and Engineering Practices, and Cross-Cutting Concepts.

Mathematics

The RISE Schools utilize iReady Math, a Georgia Standards-aligned curriculum designed to provide personalized instruction. iReady adapts to each students unique needs, offering data-driven insights and tools to support mastery of mathematical concepts and skills.

Social Studies

Our Social Studies curriculum incorporates Social Studies Weekly, a program aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence. This curriculum not only builds historical and cultural knowledge but also integrates literacy strategies by reinforcing ELA and Reading skills. Scholars are encouraged to make connections between historical events and their impact on contemporary society, fostering critical thinking and informed citizenship.

Specialized Student Support

We are committed to meeting the diverse needs of all our scholars with programs and services aligned with state and federal guidelines.

Special Needs Services: Certified teachers ensure that all students with disabilities receive the services outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring compliance with the Georgia Department of Education requirements.

English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): Our ESOL program supports English learners with targeted instruction that aligns with the Georgia Standards for English Language Proficiency, helping students develop language skills and succeed academically.

Talented and Gifted (TAG) Program: The TAG program identifies and supports students who exhibit advanced abilities, providing enrichment opportunities and challenging curricula to help them reach their full potential.

Saturday Academy

Saturday Academy is an intervention program designed to provide targeted support to scholars who need additional help in mastering core academic skills. Lessons are aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence, ensuring that students receive meaningful, standards-based instruction.
